TSMS: In Christ Alone

In Christ alone, I place my trust

And find my glory in the power of the cross

In every victory, let it be said of me

My source of STRENGTH, My source of HOPE

is CHRIST alone...

Racist Attack: Filipinos on Northern Ireland

As I tune in to GMA news this morning, I was shocked to hear a racist attack that happened in Northern Ireland just recently. A report by Belfast Telegraph stated 30-year-old  Filipino Calungsod and his wife were sleeping with their two children, aged four and six, when Verzonilla’s (another Filipino living in the same building upstairs) car, parked at the front door of their house in Fernagh Avenue, went up in flames.

According to the Belfast report, Calungsod moved to Northern Ireland five years ago to work,

“We didn’t have any problems before but now we are thinking of moving again. We moved here because our friends live here. They said it was a nice, quiet street, good for our kids. And it had been. But now we are all scared,"

Calungsod was quoted as saying in the report.

My heart really screams for justice and protection for these people.  As foreign individuals, all we ever wanted is to give our families a good life they deserve. We worked hard as they do (sometimes even harder) and follow every law they require, yet this is what we get in return? My question is WHY? After all these years, WHY? We don't deserve to be treated like this.  I symphatize for those victims of this maltreatment. Hope you'll find a safe, racist-free place to move in. Until then, my prayers will include you.

Aedes Egypti Stikes Again

AEDES EGYPTI
(Dengue virus carrier)

Dengue is an infectious disease causing frequent epidemics. Various factors that contributes to the spread of this flu-like illness were lack of effective mosquito control, lack of public health systems to control the epidemic, the increase usage of plastic items which are the breeding sites of the mosquitoes.

In this rainy season, cases of dengue fever is reaching again at it's peak. In order not to be caught off guard with such kind of disease, here are some tips on how to prevent it's occurrence:

  • Use mosquito repellents (lotions, sprays, etc)
  • Discard all unwanted items gathered around the living area and keep the environment clean to avoid the breeding of mosquitoes.
  • Fumigate the area if possible (contact service provider)
  • Keep the water stores clean and closed.
  • Keep yourself well covered when outside.
  • Take prompt medical advice once fever starts.

Thankful Thursday: My Family

If there's one thing that I wanna be thankful of - that is for having this "one of a kind" FAMILY:

For PAPA: Being away from your family is not easy, i know. You gave up your chance to have those days being with the ones you love (US - your family) just to earn a living and give us a great life you want us to have. For all the sacrifices and pain you have to bare for us to have a brighter future and everything we ever wanted. For the skills you taught me, encouragements and words of wisdom. Most of all, for leading me to serve the God that you serve. Thank you!

For MAMA: For waking up early in the morning just to cook and prepare everything we need for the rest of the day. For praying every night and looking after us for the past 20 years. For loving us unconditionally and forgiving us every time we commit mistakes. Thank you!

For my Brothers June Birth & A J:  For obeying and respecting my decisions as the eldest among us 3. For reminding me to be responsible whenever you look up on me. For helping me cleaning the house, doing the laundry and washing the dishes. Thank you!

For God: For keeping our family together and blessing us extraordinarily. For protecting each one of us everyday and guiding us throughout the seasons. For expanding our territories, favors and your grace that always abound in our lives. For your LOVE that is beyond any measure and comprehension. Thank you sooooo much!!!

Shoot Me: Go Kart Ride

My first time to ride this thing was last summer in Cebu City, Philippines. It will only cost you 300 PHP and you will experience the greatest thrill and amusement of riding a race kart on an actual race. SOOOOoooo AMAZING! Hoping to go back there someday for another uncomparable racing experience.

Word-filled Wednesday

"NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE TO THEM THAT BELIEVE..."

Watery Wednesday

The Worst Week Ever

Since we have this PRC requirement thing to complete before we're allowed to take the board examination, I've spent my time yesterday working my ass on this site. I tried so hard to get all the cases that I can accommodate as possible, but unfortunately only few moms who gave birth yesterday. Now I have to set another appointment to get another chance of completing my DR cases (birth deliveries) and for the record, it's that not easy to get a schedule.

I'm quite frustrated now and getting hopeless a little bit since I'm off my budget and I can't afford to waste more time... I felt like I've spent my time and money for nothing. I don't know what to do... God please help me... What would be the next step? Guess I just have to trust you beyond this circumstances.

...You are God above all and I know that your still in control...
