TCP: Supernatural

This is the one of the famous American series that I've been following. The story revolves around the 2 brothers (Dean, as the eldest and Sam, the younger brother) who were destined to kill each other since they were both chosen as vessels of 2 angels with same story and  destiny to fulfill. These 2 angels were quite famous in the history of Christianity. They were named as Michael (the eldest), the only angel who can kill the DEVIL and Lucifer or referred to as the DEVIL (the younger brother).

Since Lucifer break out from his pit, He formed his army and spread disaster in the world as a sign of his rebellion and revenge to God who created humans and made them valuable over  his likeness. The angels of heaven were also preparing to counteract Lucifer's plan of destroying the world. In order for Michael to slain Lucifer (as it was written the prophecy), these 2 angels needs to descend into their vessels and take its human form.

Unfortunately, it does not go that easy for the 2 brothers Dean and Sam. They don't want to be controlled by those powerful creatures who wanted their bodies so badly. Their journey became even more interesting as they continue to find other options as solution for their problem, aside from giving up their bodies. They were chased by demons and angels and struggled over their powers just to chose family over destiny. In this movie, you would really value the worth of a family when things gets rough.

You better watch it!
I promise, you'll never regret!...

TCP: Solomon Kane

SOLOMON KANE

I just viewed this movie yesterday for the first time and I was amazed on how this film depicted a picture a terrible person who happens to be a cold-hearted, greedy, selfish and a war freak MONSTER with a terrible background, transformed into a loving, caring and adorable HUMAN as he surrenders his pride before God and acknowledges his weaknesses.

Solomon Kane came from the royalties but He choose to disobey his Father's will for him. He walked away, leave his inheritance and everything behind, and never returned until his journey of rescuing Meridith (the daughter of His friend who kept him and considered him as a family) and redeeming his soul from hell begins. Even though there were moments that he felt hopeless, His determination to continue and TRUST towards the OMNIPOTENT God led him to the peak of his SUCCESS on his mission.

Lessons learned:
  • Everyone has an opportunity to CHANGE once we give up our pride and start listening to what our Father (GOD) says.
  • Perseverance can lead you father than you thought.
  • Prayer is the BEST weapon you can use. Way better than any magic/sorcery, sword or guns !!!
  • Lastly, it's God's battle, not yours. So just sit back, PRAY and relax! God is always in the upper hand.

ENJOY WATCHING!!!

Just Dig A Little Deeper

Perseverance, Endurance and Determination were just another fancy words used to describe HARD WORK. They say that these elements would help you reach your goals and ambitions in life. I say, that with all these elements, combined with prayers and FAITH to God's ultimate power, will make mountains move and astound every giants standing in your way towards victory.

This has caught my attention when I saw the true to life story movie of "Hurricane Season" which showed us on how the people of New Orleans, Louisiana cope with the damaged that hurricane Katrina caused in their homes last 2005. Many people died in such terrible disaster but one person stand out and didn't gave up on the things that he always dreamed off. He continued to wrestle against the impossibilities and little by little, he did get what he always wanted.

I don't usually believe on stories like this at first, since it rarely happens in real situation unlike in fairy tales. But knowing that it happened for real, it somehow inspired me, showing  to me that indeed a RADICAL COMMITMENT, or we call that PASSION, towards a certain cause can make impossible things become possible. It just took one person, making a difference and chooses to find HOPE in the midst of despair, have turned everything upside down for New Orleans.

The story revolves around a certain coach who was so dedicated in building his basketball team, preparing them for the biggest game season of their lives. They were working so hard, aiming for the National State Championship title until that Katrina incident happened and took away everything they have. Since most of his players were seniors and wished to play their last season, most of them losed hope and transferred to another university that offers them better opportunities to play. But the coach picked up the pieces one by one and started all over again in pushing through their goals and dreams. His DETERMINATION inspired few students and have also choose to remain under his supervision, despite of the frustrations they went through. They continued to train themselves and used those negative emotions left by Katrina as a motivating factor to fight and survive in the league.

Indeed they went through victories after victories and claimed the National State Championship title, upholding the values of HARD WORK, DISCIPLINE and TEAMWORK. They have proved to everyone that the only way to solve a problem is to face it courageously and not by running away from it. They showed to everyone that there is nothing that could not be achieved as long as you believe. Most importantly, they taught me to outlive my passion and hold on to it until it becomes TRUE or REAL to me!

It was a great movie indeed, inspiring us all with a saying that you just have to "DIG A LITTLE DEEPER" every time you work on to that dream. One day, "You'll get there!"

HOLD ON TO YOUR DREAMS!

Avatar: The Last Air Bender

I have been following this movie since High School and finally I just had the chance to view it in theaters.  All I can say is WOW! They totally captured the story of what really happened in the journey of Aang (Noah Ringer). Redeeming the glory of the AVATAR: The Last Air Bender who happens to be responsible in maintaining the balance of the four tribes that represents the four elements namely; Air, Water, Earth and Fire.

I was a bit disappointed since the story jumped off to several shortcuts. I guess, it would take too much time for the production to focus on the details just like in the usual animation series which consist of 24 (more or less) episodes. The problem is, those who were just new to this story won't be able to follow clearly on why such events takes place.

In contrary, the 24 episodes where compressed and magnificently translated into a one full packed movie, with outstanding effects that would really amazed the viewers; not just to those who followed the animated series but even for those who were just new to it. I love the portion where Aang bends the sea to drove away the villains (fire tribe) who tried to invade the North Water tribe territory. That part was pretty awesome!

As for the characters, everyone did play their roles well. I was just expecting a funnier Sokka, a Chinese version of Prince Zuko and a fat Uncle Iroh. I was also looking forward for a fair complexion Katara. Not a white one. But even so, this movie won't be as great as it is, without these characters who mastered their roles perfectly. I was so impressed with the effects and with generousity, I would rate this one as 10/10.

I commend the production staff for a Job well done and I will be expecting a much better translation of the book 2 and 3 in the next season. Until then, the story of the AVATAR: The Last Air Bender continues to rocks!
