It keeps me wonder why God loves me so much when all I do is just cause HIM troubles. Indeed HIS love for us is AMAZING! He called me despite of my failures and loved me beyond my imperfections.

Lessons From Our Own Mistakes

 
I had a great time last night when we had our lighthouse prayer fellowship! We were having fun as we tackle about the topic "MISTAKES". We were laughing at our own personal experience of committing errors, even just in simple ways, as we share to the group. It's a mere proof that we are just normal humans. Born to make mistakes! As we were pondering upon it, there are certain representations or lessons we get once we commit mistakes and these are the following:

Let me start with letter:

M - Messages we get out from our committed faults and errors.

I - Interruptions that causes us to reflect and evaluate the appropriateness of our actions.

S - Sign post that directs us to the right path.

T - Test that will push us towards growth or maturity.

A - Awakening that restores our right mentality.

K - Keys that we can use to unlock the next door of opportunity.

E - Exploration that leads us to a journey where we've never been before.

S - Statements of our developmental progress.

Sometimes, our mistakes are the ones that causes us to be GREAT by learning the lessons we get behind it. So don't be afraid to commit one! Just don't make a habit of making one. Cause as humans, we ought to commit mistakes. The good thing there is, "We become better people when we learn the lessons we get from our own MISTAKES!"

East West Review Lecturers

For this Thursday, I want to be thankful for the knowledge that was imparted to me by my review professors. As I was saying last week, I'm currently taking my review prior to our Nursing Licensure Exam which will be on the 19th and 20th of December. It's a long term preparation though, but still I'm getting anxious as the days draw near to such event. Since this would be the determining factor if I got what it takes to qualify as one of the new sets of registered nurses here in our country, I got to prepare for it. 

But let me go back to the portion where I would offer my gratitude to my first 2 review professors namely Ms. Corinne Lirazan and Mr. Art Sarrosa who made learning so easy and SUPER fun for me and for the rest of my batchmates. There were topics that I only understood today and not when I was still in college, when you both have explained it clearly. Though my professors in college were also good but you guys were OUTSTANDING and One a Kind! If I only knew that you both were long-time educators from other university, then I could have enrolled myself there and learn so much from the both of you.

Thank you very much for helping me to become that noble person we always dreamed of - a knowledgeable, competent and compassionate NURSE, who's always prepared and ready to save lives whenever the need calls it. God really blessed me with great people I can depend as I go along with my journey! May you continue to inspire more people like ME!

Qualities of a GOOD Teacher

 

"A GOOD STUDENT IS A BYPRODUCT 

OF A GOOD TEACHER!"

My professor in college used to mention this line in class, "You are the one who's making your grade,not me. I'm just here to record it!" To be honest, I really do hate that line! Every time hear those words, it makes me angry. I loose respect for those kind of teachers who doesn't care of their students' performance in their class. As long as they were there in that classroom on the time that they were expected to be there, then that's it! 

Some prof's just exist to tell you "blah blah" and won't really care if you get it. Their totally absurd! If you ask them to explain about something, they will just tell you a bunch of crap like read your book in page blah blah blah since they really don't care if you did  or not understand what they were saying! Then if you fail in class, you would see his or her face again in the next semester, in the same classroom with different faces. Isn't it boring?

Isn't it fulfilling, as teachers, when our students appreciate our efforts of assisting them towards learning? When we know deep within ourselves that we gave our best, and somehow it changes their lives because of the influence we have in them. As educators, it is important to make sure that we possess the qualities of a GOOD teacher which for my own opinion suits to the following description below.

A GOOD TEACHER/Professor:

• Assesses carefully the learning of their student gained during or after lecture. Some sort of short-evaluation thing on his/her readiness and capability to learn such matter.
• Focuses his/her test on the areas he/she explained or emphasized. Some teachers give quizzes on things they haven't explained or lectured. Thus, it really sucks when their student failed due to their own mistakes.
• Motivates their students to achieve high results, to boost up their ego and feel good about themselves.
• Encourage sense of independence by allowing them to think and be creative.
• Providing unique and outstanding ideas to start off if they're clueless on something.
• Offers emotional, intellectual and spiritual support as necessary. A teacher is like a second parent to their students no matter how young or how old a student may be!
• Maintains a positive attitude towards a certain task. Emphasizing that everything will work out if we're all in this together.
• Considers faults or mistakes committed and helping them to correct those errors little by little.
• Sympathizes with their students hardships.
• Should be more focused on the process than being result oriented. You can't expect too much from your student at the start. You have to be patient and guide him/her through the process.
• Never gives up on his/her student!!!
• Prays for his/her students that they may achieve their goals and aspirations in life.
• Lastly, allow them to graduate or proceed to the next level. You can't keep them forever! Let them pass so that they will realize that their effort was worth it.

In the hands of our teachers lies the future of this world. So let us do our job well and dedicate our lives to mold these young leaders to be the person they intend to become. For a good teacher will always bear fruit to a good student! If you have these qualities, you will always be remembered by the students you've handled and that memory will never be taken away from them. A reward that cannot be paid by any amount! A treasure that you will cherish FOREVER.

PERSEVERANCE

I've always been thought by my Father to stay firm and strong especially in tough times before he left to work abroad. These past days seems to be so tiring for me. I've been awake all night just to finish reading books in lieu to my preparations for the upcoming board exam. Thousands of pages that I have to finish just for me to be comfortable knowing that I am still working on the right pace. 

To be honest, I'm tired and getting ill of the same routine I've been doing for the past weeks. I'm sick of reading books. Tired of borrowing review materials. Drained of listening to hours and hours of lecture for the whole week. Plus, I don't have enough resources to finance the things that I need, unlike any other folks who were in the same situations like me. They can afford to watch movies and join party's after a heavy lecture. Go to the spa and relax for a few moments. Enjoy every leisure time they have since they're parents provides sufficient funds for them to waste. Fortunately, I don't have that luxury! But then, I still feel bad. 

Then God brought me to a realization that entails, "Every dream has a corresponding PRICE to pay!" Michael Jordan didn't reach the top by just because he was slacking off around the corner. You have to strive hard and endure till the last minute in order to win. Even Pat Riley (famous NBA Coach) said, "You can have everything you wanted in this World, but NO ONE will give it to you for FREE!" So will have to work hard to get what you want.

As I was evaluating myself this morning, I thought to myself that I could still be on the right track. So press on CHRISTIAN! Once you win this, It will be over for you on this stage and you can move on to the next level of your journey! You just have to PERSEVERE and bare the discomfort for a while. When you're there already, then you will savor the sweet taste of the SUCCESS that God will reward you for trusting and following Him.

Indeed, the level of Success a person can attain is tantamount to the Sacrifices he is willing to make. The more you sacrifice, the more you become SUCCESSFUL, well of course, with God's guidance, approval and blessing. Press onwards and Never Ever QUIT!!!

WFW: God is the Strength of My Heart

He fills me with His JOY everyday and that's what keeps me going. Though life is filled with a lot challenges and struggles, His STRENGTH suffices all my weaknesses and pushes me to move forward, leading me to the path of His plan for my life. And even if life would hit me with his best shot, rest assured that I can still stand and continue on my journey knowing that my heart won't run out of strength since the source is Everlasting!

SOLOMON KANE

I just viewed this movie yesterday for the first time and I was amazed on how this film depicted a picture a terrible person who happens to be a cold-hearted, greedy, selfish and a war freak MONSTER with a terrible background, transformed into a loving, caring and adorable HUMAN as he surrenders his pride before God and acknowledges his weaknesses.

Solomon Kane came from the royalties but He choose to disobey his Father's will for him. He walked away, leave his inheritance and everything behind, and never returned until his journey of rescuing Meridith (the daughter of His friend who kept him and considered him as a family) and redeeming his soul from hell begins. Even though there were moments that he felt hopeless, His determination to continue and TRUST towards the OMNIPOTENT God led him to the peak of his SUCCESS on his mission.

Lessons learned: 

• Everyone has an opportunity to CHANGE once we give up our pride and start listening to what our Father (GOD) says.

• Perseverance can lead you father than you thought.

• Prayer is the BEST weapon you can use. Way better than any magic/sorcery, sword or guns !!!

• Lastly, it's God's battle, not yours. So just sit back, PRAY and relax! God is always in the upper hand.

MYM: Cars

I was in the mall and I saw this one. I used to ride this car when I was still young. I love cars and I'm going to buy one someday. Hopefully, it won't be too long for me till I can reach that state. Driving is my hobby and my way of relaxing when I'm too tired working on something. Just a single ride from one point to another and it lessens the stress I usually get. I  also find it as a need on my current situation since I've been so busy traveling around the city lately to follow up a lot of important things. That's why I badly need one! But what else can I do? I still have to fill my bank account for it. But definitely, I will get there!... And I will have the greatest ride of my life. Maybe for the meantime, I'll just enjoy reminiscing how fun it is to ride something like this one, when you're still a kid.

SSS: Guess Who?

GUESS WHO? 

This was taken at early morning while doing our morning routine in nearby SM City Mall with my ever supportive bestfriend towards our undying quest of WEIGHT LOSING! Since we noticed that our weights were getting bigger, or should I say heavier, we decided to do something about it. At first, we were serious of that jogging thing but as the SUN gets hotter instead, we re-channeled our energies to what we call as SHADOW MODELING. That's why we ended up to this picture. LOL... I just thought that I can be a GREAT shadow model for everyone. More importantly, I realized that loosing weight won't just be so easy for me either. So I need to put an extra effort into it!!!
